Yamaha Factory SXers Reed & Webb Ready For Oakland Visit

The Monster Energy Supercross series heads back to California this weekend and travels north to the Bay Area for Round Five of the 2017 Championship, which takes place at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum this Saturday.

The Oakland Supercross is the first of three events on the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross schedule that will take place during the afternoon and early evening, with opening ceremonies beginning at 3:30 PM. Also, the event will be broadcast live on FS2, which is a departure from the series' usual FS1 broadcast home.

Chad Reed (#22) and Cooper Webb (#2)--Monster Energy/Yamalube/Chaparral/Yamaha Financial Services/Yamaha Factory Racing Team's dynamic duo--will be in action as Chad looks to build on the momentum and podium result he enjoyed in Phoenix and Cooper hopes to continue improving his finishing position in this, his rookie season aboard the Yamaha YZ450F.

"Coming off a solid weekend like I had at Phoenix always makes the next week a little better and increases the excitement," Chad said. "I'm looking forward to Oakland. It's always been a challenging track and race weekend, and for that, I'm excited. We've made great progress so far this season, and I'm confident that we're heading in the right direction."

Cooper commented, "I've never done a daytime Supercross race before, so racing at Oakland in the afternoon instead of at night will be a new thing for me, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm feeling great, and I heard there is some rain coming to the Oakland area, so the dirt should be really good to race on."
