Shinko Introduces New Mobber Tires
While they may have naked sport bike styling, the small
displacement
Honda Grom and Kawasaki Z125 Pro have found their way off paved
streets thanks to owners outfitting these small bore machines with
knobby tires.
The only hiccup has been that turning these mini street moto's
into mini dual sports is that the selection of DOT offroad tires
for these 125cc machines is rather limited. However, with the
release of Shinko's
new Mobber tires now Grom, Z125, Honda Monkey, and any other
motorcycle owners whose bikes can run a
120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear tires have another option thanks
to choose from.
According to Shinko's Brand Manager, Kyle Isaacs, the new Mobber
tires are based off of their popular 504/505
offroad tires but have been designed for the small bore market and
DOT approved for street use.
The tires have a hard carbon compound tread design that helps
minimize tread wear. The reinforced knobs offer great durability
and are reinforced to reduce tearing and breaking. The tread
profile is comprised to offer great offroad traction while
delivering predictable braking and stability during on-road use.
Even though they are DOT approved tires, Shinko recommends the
new Mobber tires be mostly used for offroad riding. Ideally you'd
use these tires to ride to your local offroading area or trails and
use the stock tires or a set of more street-oriented tires for
heavy street use and commuting.
