Indian Motorcycle Announces Contest To Celebrate America's Local Heroes

Indian Motorcycle, America's first motorcycle company, announced their "Two-Wheel Salute for a Hometown Hero," a contest that encourages community members across the nation to nominate their local heroes to salute their heroism and possibly garner nationwide recognition. Indian Motorcycle will honor the three selected finalists with a one-year VIP loan of one of the all-new cruiser motorcycle models.

Indian Motorcycle recognizes that many local heroes go unsung. In response, the company is aggressively seeking stories of those heroic men and women across the country who are passionate about helping others in their communities -- and passionate about motorcycles and motorcycle riding. Three hometown heroes will be selected and offered a VIP loan of an Indian Chief Classic, Chief Vintage or Chieftain for a year. Should their nominee be selected, the person nominating that local hero will also be recognized with a $1,000 cash prize.

"We see reports of heroes in the news every day, yet in today's fast paced hectic world we don't often take the time to fully recognize these selfless and heroic acts," said Rod Krois, Marketing Director for Indian Motorcycle. "We wanted to find a way to celebrate those local heroes who have directly impacted their communities in a positive and meaningful way. It's a nod to the brave men and women of our military, fire and police departments, as well as teachers and those in other service positions whose heroic work demonstrates their passion for others and represents the best in their communities. Nominations will be accepted via an online form on the Indian Motorcycle website and must include a short description of why a particular individual deserves to be recognized with a one-year VIP loan of an Indian Chief. Nominees must be at least eighteen years old, and those selected must have an existing motorcycle license. Entries will be judged on; the quality of content relating to why the nominee is a hometown hero, creativity and clarity in storytelling, passion showed of motorcycling and the motorcycle culture, and proper spelling and grammar of the entry.
