Russell
Bobbitt led an all-Husaberg sweep of the podium at this
weekend's Rattlesnake Enduro, round eight of the Rekluse AMA
National Enduro series in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania.
Rain the day before and on the morning of the race made for
slippery conditions at this year's event, as Bobbitt took advantage
of a late start number to come away with a long overdue win. After
posting the fastest time in the first three tests of the day,
Bobbitt settled into a comfortable pace for the rest of the race to
take the overall win by a 33-second margin over runner-up Nick
Fahringer. The win was Bobbitt's first in nearly a year.
"It feels good to get back on top of the podium," said Bobbitt. "I
was riding really good today, but I also had a bit of an advantage
because of my late start time. I guess I'll be breaking trail at
the next race, so it all works out. I'll take it any way I can get
it."
After getting off to a slow start, Fahringer came on strong at the
end of the day. The Radiant AirGroup Husaberg rider finished second
in the fourth test and then won the final two tests to beat out
factory Husaberg rider Mike
Lafferty by 30 seconds, making the fourth time this year that
Fahringer has finished in the runner-up slot.

Series points leader Charlie
Mullins had an off day and finished fourth, although at one
time the FMF/KTM rider was as far back as seventh before a strong
finish in the final test moved him up the order. Despite the
fourth-place finish, Mullins still holds a 29-point lead in the
series standings over Fahringer with only two races remaining on
the schedule.
Obermeyer Yamaha's Brad Bakken
rode a 250F Yamaha to fifth
overall, while Am Pro Yamaha's Jesse Groemm
rode a 250 two-stroke to sixth. Groemm turned some heads by winning
ultra-fast fourth test.
The Rekluse AMA National Enduro Series now takes a seven-week break
before resuming action in Lynnville, Indiana, on September 15th for
round nine of the series. For more information on the series go to

Russell Bobbitt Wins Rattlesnake National Enduro

well after his most recent injury - Photo: Shan Moore[/caption]
Husaberg Factory rider Russell
Bobbitt proved he is recovering well after his most recent
injury as he dominated the eighth round of the Rekluse AMA National
Enduro Series winning three of the six special tests to claim his
first victory of the 2013 season.
Bobbitt, who suffered an injury two months ago, returned to full
strength a week ago when he won the fifth round of the OMA Series.
Now one week later, he arrived to the track eager to see if he
could repeat that victory in the National Enduro Series.
He started the day well securing the win in the first three special
tests. At the end of the fourth test he had already accumulated a
nearly one minute lead over the rest of the field. Behind him
fellow Husaberg riders Mike
Lafferty and Nick
Fahringer were battling for second place. Lafferty held the
spot until the end of the fifth test, which Fahringer won, taking
over second place.
Heading into the final test, Bobbitt held a 40 second lead. He
turned a solid time in the final test to take his first race win of
the season. Fahringer took the win in the final test to secure
second position while Lafferty took third overall to make it a
Husaberg podium sweep.

"I am happy to win one," remarked Bobbitt. "I came pretty close in
Texas earlier this year and didn't actually have high expectations
going into this round. I have struggled at this round in the past,
and luckily, was able to come out here with Nick (Fahringer) a week
early and train and ride in similar conditions. I think having more
time and options to adjust my set-up helped my confidence before
the start of the race. My bike was flawless the whole day and my
conditioning felt great. I didn't struggle with any issues from my
earlier injury and I feel good about the progress we have
made."
This race marked the first time that the National Enduro podium has
been swept by Husaberg riders. Eight-time National Enduro Champion
Mike Lafferty, commented, "I am happy I could be part of a
history-making moment today. I had a good time on this course. I
struggled a little in the first test but was able to put it
together in the next few and had a smooth day. I didn't have any
crashes and I rode a pretty mistake-free race. I am happy to finish
on the podium with my fellow Husaberg riders."

Charlie Mullins Maintains Point Lead After Rattlesnake National Enduro

but finished the day in 4th place - Photo: Shan Moore[/caption]
Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie
Mullins maintains the championship points lead after the eighth
round of the Rekluse AMA National Enduro Series.
The factory rider struggled on the slick course early on. In the
middle of the day he began to gain some speed and was consistently
finishing inside the top five times.
"I suffered a few crashes throughout the tests today which set me
back," stated Mullins. "I really had a tough time in the fifth test
but the sixth test was smooth and a perfect amount of rocks - not
too many. I was able to make up some ground in that test, which
helped bump up my overall finish."
Mullins turned the second fastest time in the final test to move
him up three overall positions. He finished the race in 4th place,
earning 18 points toward the championship. With two rounds
remaining, Mullins still holds a sizeable 29 point advantage over
the rest of his competitors.
The riders will now take a few weeks break before returning for the
ninth round of the series which will be held in Lynnville, IN on
September 15, 2013.
