EnduroCross Coming To X Games
ESPN's X Games already feature a variety of motorsports, but this
year, the competition is getting a much-needed boost with the
addition of EnduroCross racing to the extreme sports
competition.
The X Games kick off this year in Los Angeles on the weekend of
July 28th through the 31st, and some of the top off-riders in the
world will be on hand to compete for medals. Making things even
more interesting is the fact that the race will make the opening
round of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series. That means riders will
not just be going for the gold, but for points in the championship
as well.
"This is huge!" Zip-Ty Husqvarna's Ty Davis told the news source.
"Being on the X Games is almost like making the 6:00 o'clock news.
Everyone watches X Games! I'm glad to see EnduroCross become a part
of it. Fans are going to definitely get something to watch."
EnduroCross is a relatively new phenomenon, as it's basically a
mixture of off-road racing and motocross. The competition takes
place indoors like many Supercross events, but riders have unique
obstacles to deal with that replicate off-road tracks, such as
logs, small creeks and rocks.
