Illinois Gets Ready For Motorcycle Rally
This fall, Georgetown, Illinois plans to host a two day motorcycle
event which has been in the works for some time now, according to
Commercial News.
Local resident Don Weil has been working on the rally, which he
predicts will draw in thousands of bikers and consumers. He plans
to hold the event at the city-owned Oubache Park, which is just
west of Georgetown, the news source reported.
Although planning has gone smoothly, Weil may have hit a slight
speed bump. He wants to acquire a liquor license for the rally, but
is worried he may not be granted one. He claims that guests will
want to drink while listening to live music, reported the news
source.
"If I can't get a liquor license, I may have to put it on the back
burner," Weil told the news provider. "But, I'm still hoping this
thing will happen this year."
Georgetown's mayor, Dennis Lucas, said the city cannot give Weil
the license since the park is located outside city limits. However,
the city attorney claims the license can be issued just for the
rally. Officials are still researching the issue.
