I bought this tire in 130/80-17. It doesn't fully seat at bead. Will a tubeless tire fit on a tubed rim?
Michael Haney - September 23, 2018
Thank you for your inquiry Michael. Yes, these tires fit perfectly onto both tubed and tubeless rims. Of course, on a tube-type rim you will need to fit a tube to make it work correctly. Making sure the tire is adequately lubed where the tire bead and the rim need to meet might be a good next step. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

More Capable than I Would Have Guessed
This is the first set of Shinkos I have tried on a bike over 400 pounds. For the comparatively low price I figured I couldn't go wrong. They proved better and more capable than I would have guessed. Very impressive grip on street considering my heavy bike. I suppose the oversized knobbies (compared to other makes) pays off there. Nothing unexpected or startling on the wet pavement either. I do spend a good bit of time on gravel and dirt which is where I was most impressed with the Shinkos. Great traction on loose gravel, dry dirt, light mud and puddles. Respectable grip over some wet rock and shallow creek beds. So far, I can't see any signs of wear, however I am only about 1300 miles in. Having said that, I will probaly go ahead and outfit my 600+lb bike with the Shinko. I love a good tire at a good price.

Handled Everything I Have Asked
The Shinko 805's have handled everything I have asked them to do. I'm a faster than average rider and these tires stick on dry pavement beyond what I dare to push them on my VStrom 650. They have handled dirt from Death Valley to the High Sierras without complaint or noticeable slippage. They were fine in sand, it's the heavy bike that is the limiting factor. They did fine on wet pavement, but I'm not going to push it in the wet. Not much wet dirt experience with them, and no mud, so not much of a comment there. I'm getting about 11k miles on the front. The rear tire is good for 4-5k miles, but the last 100-1500 miles is really only street duty. The tires are working out great and will buy them again.
