Thank you for your inquiry Bob. The first place you should look for your vehicles recommended oil wight and viscosity is in the owners manual. According to our records / the manual for your VMAX the Engine oil:Type:SAE10W30 or SAE10W40 or SAE15W40or SAE20W40 or SAE20W50 (ZAF) YAMALUBE 4, SAE10W30 or SAE20W40 (CAL)(U49). race engines, qualifying engines designed to run low viscosity oil: speed bikes, MotoGP, SuperSport, Superbike, Uphill, hill climb … AND for street bikes fitted with catalytic converters. Its PERFORMANCE STANDARDS are JASO T903 tested and approved with an SAE rating of J 300 15W-50. In reference, the KTM recommended Motorex 4T Oil is JASO MA 903:2006 / API SL, SJ, SH, SG. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
