Performs Considerably Better
The Continental TKC70 is an excellent tire for those that ride primarily on pavement but want decent off-road ability for occasional dirt, gravel and sand. It performs considerably better that my previous Tourance off-road. However, it does wear considerably faster and at 9000 miles it is due to be replaced. I regularly got 12-14,000 out of the Tourance. On pavement the two tires have very similar handling characteristics. The TKC70 performed well on both wet and dry roads. I feel that the improved off-road capabilities of this tire outweigh the slightly less tread life than the Metzeler Tourance, which is itself a fine tire but lacking in loose dirt or mud.

Performance is Better than Expected
I like the aggressive look of this tire. Not quite a full knobby but not a full street tire either. It is a good compromise between the street focused Trail Attack and the TKC 80. Street performance is better than expected: quiet, good traction in dry and wet conditions. Wear thus far is more than acceptable. Does not wander on bridge grates and rain grooves. Confidence inspiring on gravel and dirt roads. In summary, this is a great all around tire for most dual sport applications. I am surprised that so few people know about this tire. I would recommend it to all four stroke single cylinder fans.
