Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team Heads To Las Vegas For Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Finale
The 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross
Championship is set to conclude its 17-round series this Saturday,
May 5, at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The Monster
Energy/Yamaha
Factory Racing Team looks to end the season on a strong note as
Justin Barcia prepares to battle for a top position, while 450SX
fill-in rider Justin Hill seeks redemption after a tough weekend in
Salt Lake City.
Additionally, Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing's Aaron
Plessinger will vie for the 250SX West Championship as he heads
into the finale with a 13-point lead in the championship.
Justin Barcia, 450SX #51 - Monster
Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team Rider
"I'm super excited going into
Vegas. It's good for me because I have no pressure and nothing to
lose. For me, I'm just getting back to my peak again, where I was
in the beginning of the season, so I'm going there with some
motivation to get on the podium. I've been top-five since I came
back, which is fine and great, but I want to be on the podium.
That's always the goal. I've had good luck in Vegas in the past,
I've wrapped up championships there on the 250, so I think it will
be a great weekend."
Josh Hill, 450SX #751 - Monster
Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team Fill-In Rider
"Last weekend in Salt Lake
City, I just felt like I wasn't riding like myself. I felt like I
was riding pretty tight and I don't know if it was the dirt, being
at a dry race for the first time this season, or if it was the
elevation getting to me. But this weekend I'm just trying to focus
on riding loose, focusing on my form, technique and I think that's
what's going to pay off going into Las Vegas."
Stop by the Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing team transporter
on Saturday afternoon from 2:30-3:30 p.m. (subject to change due to
