Yamaha has issued recall #990112 for certain 2015-2016 YZF-R3 models due to the potential for engine vibration causing the fuel tank mounting bracket to contact the fuel tank, which could result in the tank leaking fuel, posing the risk of a fire.

The recall affects Yamaha R3 motorcycles that fall in the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) range of MH3RH06Y3FK001316 and through MH3RH06Y8GK015360, (this is non-sequential).

The remedy is for Yamaha dealers to replace the gas tank brackets and and replace the gas tank if deemed necessary.
