Polaris Problems: RZR, Turbo, And 1000 Models

Polaris has issued a recall for 2016-2017 RZR 900, 1000 and Turbo units and General 1000 models (about 13,500 units total) due to a risk of possible vehicle engine misfire. Between the possible misfire and the temperatures of the exhaust there is the potential for nearby components to get too hot and cause the components to melt, and/or a contaminated brake master cylinder may cause unintended brake drag, posing burn and fire hazards.

While there have only been a few reported instances of the UTVs catching fire due to the issues listed above, Polaris is asking owners not to operate their vehicles and to take them to their local dealer for repair for Polaris troubleshooting.

Vehicles affected by this recall were sold between August 2015 through February 2017. The Consumer Product Safety Commission's number is 17-102.
