KTM factory riders Ryan Dungey, Marvin Masquin, Justin Hill and Jessy Nelson recently got a chance to see what their new rides for the 2016 season would be at KTM's test track in Corona, California.

The 2016 KTM 450 SX-F and 250 SX-F Factory Edition models remain similar to their 2015 counterparts. However, the differences are noticeable. Both bikes will shave off a few pounds thanks to new forks and new mufflers.

The 2016 models are now fitted with WP AER 48 air forks. These forks are about 3.1 pounds lighter than the previous spring fork, which is definitely good news for 450cc riders Dungey and Musquin. The KTM dirt bike was already the lightest of the 450 class in 2015.

Both bikes also get lighter mufflers. The 250 has a new FMF muffler while the 450 gets an Akrapovic model.

All told, both bikes shed about 4 pounds from the 2015 models, which ought to keep KTM's factory riders competitive on the motocross and supercross series in the coming year.
