Jorge Lorenzo Bounces Back With A Win At Mugello

Jorge Lorenzo
rebounded from a trying race two weeks ago to take the
win at Italy's Mugello circuit. This is Lorenzo's second victory of
the motorsports season and keeps him in the hunt for
the top spot in the rankings.
Lorenzo led from the start, keeping a hold on the top position for
all 22 laps around the track. According to Ultimate Motorcycling,
Mugello is typically one of the fastest on the MotoGP schedule, and
the Yamaha rider took full advantage of the high speeds to claim
his third consecutive victory at the Tuscan circuit.
"The conditions and the circumstances were good for us and I didn't
make a mistake," Lorenzo said. "...It's very special; I won the
last three years here, so this track is magic for me and very
positive for Yamaha."
Dani Pedrosa
finished in second place, which was enough to maintain his No. 1
position in the championship standings. He now leads Lorenzo by 11
points.
Cal
Crutchlow took third place at Mugello but still trails young
rider Marc Marquez
for the third spot in the overall rankings. The rookie rider
suffered from a major crash that left him unable to finish the race
for the first time this season.
