AMA Supercross will make its only international stop of the year
when the motorsports series speeds into Toronto,
Canada, for its next event. The city's Rogers Centre will act as
the home for the 12th round of the competition and give Canadians
fans a chance to see some of the league's top racers.
Ryan
Villopoto is the favorite going into the race, having won the
last two rounds and six of the 12 so far. He currently holds a
nine-point lead and will look to extend that with a win in Toronto.
The Kawasaki rider has been successful on the Canadian track
before, winning there in 2012 en route to a championship title.
While a win would give Villopoto an even stronger grasp on the
points lead, there is still an intense competition for the rest of
the podium spots. Davi
Millsaps and Ryan Dungey
aren't too far behind and have been consistently putting forth
impressive performances on the track. Millsaps could regain the top
spot from Villopoto with a victory, but a win for Dungey would
further complicate the standings.
