Arenacross Starts Season With Multiple Winners

Worcester, Massachusetts, was the place to be for two nights of
motorsports action this past
weekend, as AMSOIL Arenacross got underway at the DCU Center.
Tyler Bowers,
the two-time defending Arenacross Champion, started the event with
a bang by shooting out to an early lead in the first race of the
weekend. He stayed in the top position despite a surge from Daniel
Blair and Zach Ames, winning the opening race in convincing
fashion.
The second race saw some different faces at the front of the pack.
Michael McDade stuck closely to Ames as they jockeyed for the top
spot. The two riders were never more than a bike-length apart from
each other and traded leads several times, Speed TV reports.
Eventually McDade made a last-lap pass on Ames and, with the help
of his Kawasaki motorcycle gear, grabbed the win,
giving Ames second place. Robby Marshall took third and Bowers, who
fought back from a 15th place start, ended up in fifth place.
Ames was able to claim the overall event win thanks to his two
second-place finishes, edging Bowers by one point in the 2013
rankings. McDade is also only one point behind Bowers, creating a
tight contest only one week into the season.
