The Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing season wrapped up last weekend
with another win for the Harley-Davidson/Vance & Hines team at the
track in Pomona, California. Team rider Andrew
Hines won the final event for his sixth victory of 2012,
narrowly defeating his teammate Ed Krawiec.
Krawiec walked away with the championship, however, clinching the
title early on by qualifying for the later elimination rounds. This
marks Krawiec's second consecutive championship and his third in
six years in Pro Stock motorsports racing, Motorsport.com
reports. He ends the season more than 80 points ahead of the
second-place Hines, with Buell rider Hector
Arana Jr. in a distant third.
"This has been such a great season," said Krawiec. "When I reflect
on the way it went, to make 11 final rounds and get nine wins, and
have the H-D team win 13 in a row, it's really unbelievable. And
there's the highlight of getting a win at home in Englishtown, the
biggest win of all for me."
The Harley-Davidson team ended the season with wins in 15 of the 16
events, dominating the competition throughout 2012 behind strong
performances from Krawiec and Hines.
