Cory Graffunder Poised To Claim Hare Scrambles Championship

Cory Graffunder is poised to win his first championship of 2012
this weekend. The Husqvarna racer is gunning for the top spot in
the AMA West Hare Scrambles at the Kenda Big Sky XC in Montana.
The rider is just getting over injuries from a crash at Glen Helen,
where he had a mid-air collision that resulted in surgery on his
foot. He sat out the recent round of the World Off Road
Championship Series at Cahuilla Creek, but Graffunder isn't going
to let that get in the way of his quest for the top.
Graffunder currently holds a 12-point lead in the motorsports standings. A solid
finish should allow him to hold the number one spot and win the
championship.
"It's all about the championship. I'm really actually bummed that I
can't go up there 100% healthy and battle for the win," said
Graffunder. "It kinda sucks, but at the same time, I have to remind
myself that it's all about the championship right now."
In addition to battling his own injuries, Graffunder will also have
to face some stiff competition - including his Husqvarna teammate,
Kyle Redmond.
The race will take place on August 25.
