Joe Gibbs Racing Signs Kyle Regal

At this time of year, it can often feel like a carousel as
motocross riders move from team to team. The early departure of
James
Stewart from Joe Gibbs Racing has left a hole on the team,
which the managers quickly filled by announcing the signing of Kyle
Regal.
The talented 21-year-old rider showed promise while racing in AMA
Motocross in 2010, according to Cycle News. Regal raced for Merge
Honda and finished ninth overall in the series despite missing
several races due to injury. In 2011, however, Regal suffered a bit
of bad luck when he joined the San Manuel Yamaha team, only to have
them pull out from the series and leave him without a bike to
compete on. Now, Regal will have just a few short days to learn the
intricacies of a Yamaha after mainly racing Hondas for most of his
career.
"We are coming off a great supercross season with Davi
Millsaps, and both Davi and Kyle are turning some very fast
laps at our test track," said JGRMX team manager Jeremy Albrecht.
"We are excited about the upcoming outdoor national season."
The AMA Motocross season kicks off with the Hangtown Classic in
Sacramento, California, on May 19.
