AMA Details Vintage Motorcycle Days
The American Motorcycle Association (AMA) has announced further
details about the upcoming Vintage Motorcycle Days, which will be
held from July 22-24 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The main component of Vintage Motorcycle Days will be the two bike
shows held on Saturday, July 23rd. The Motorcycle Hall of Fame
Static Show will feature a broad range of models from the 1900s to
1989. These vintage rides come from all around the world, and
include some of the rarest vehicles in the world.
An interesting alternative is the "Ride 'Em Don't Hide 'Em" show.
The restrictions are the same - all models must be from before
1989. However, they also must be mechanically fit enough to
complete a 50-mile ride. The idea of the race is to show off
motorcycles that are not only beautiful, but can still complete a
longer ride.
"Two wheels, a frame, an engine - the fundamental parts of a
motorcycle are refreshingly simple and elegant, yet the ends to
which designers and engineers have taken those core pieces test the
bounds of human creativity," said AMA Director of Operations Jack
Penton. "Many motorcycles representing these unique designs will be
featured at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days on July 22-24."
