The nonprofit Iron Justice Motorcycle Club has donated thousands of dollars to the Illinois community in the past, and now they are offering two $250 scholarships.

The McHenry County chapter, which is mostly comprised of law enforcement officers, want to help struggling families to help pay for education.

"Iron Justice has always been committed to giving back to the community that we serve," Eric Decker, an Iron Justice spokesman, said. "This is one of the reasons we do fundraising events and host gatherings is to promote charitable causes like this."

To be eligible for the scholarship, individuals must be a full-time or part-time student at a two or four year institution or attend a trade school. They must be trying to earn their first undergraduate degree and have a 2.5 grade point average or higher.

They have to send in a completed application, a copy of their most recent transcript, their GPA and a signed letter of recommendation from a teacher or professor as well. The scholarship will help pay for books, tuition or fees and qualifying recipients have until March 1 to apply.
