Sneek Peek: Triumph Adventure Bikes
British manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles has announced the
development of two new "adventure bikes," creating a microsite for
the proposed models at www.triumphadventure.com.
Hard details are hard to find on the new models. In an email
response from Triumph's microsite, it states: "Here at Triumph,
we're really busy developing two brand new adventure bikes. It'll
be a good few months before they're ready."
Triumph will be rolling out the models in stages, with scheduled
release dates for information regarding the engine (August 4),
chassis (September 1) and clothing/accessories (October 6th).
Speculation surrounding the introduction of the new machines is to
be a smaller version of the firm's Tiger adventure-tourer, most
likely utilizing a version of the 675 Triple platform that powers
the Daytona 675 and Street Triple. If true, the new Triumph would
be taking aim at BMW's F800GS.
Other options: Triumph may be re-designing its existing Tiger to
match up against the BMW's R1200GS, a move mirrored by Ducati
Multistrada 1200 and Yamaha Super Tenere.
